We are happy to assist you with information regarding installation techniques for each of our products. All of our hardware, fasteners, sealers, and oils have user
manuals that can be consulted before installation. Please let us know if you need help locating instructions or return policies. 

Please keep in mind that lumber is a natural material, so color differences exist between boards. We do not sort for color or grain. Also keep in mind that there will be occasional surface cracks, wormholes, grease marks, stains, scratch, and splits due to the nature of wood. By agreeing to the terms and conditions, the customer acknowledges and accepts this reality as a term of sale. Be aware that the nominal dimension and net dimension differ. Check all board sizes for net finished measurements to know the size of the boards you purchase. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles is not responsible for customers’ over ordering or under ordering material. It is the customer’s responsibility to review and revise any quote before making the purchase; we are not responsible for any discrepancies in the amount ordered. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles reserves the right to change its terms and conditions without written notice.

Terms & Conditions: Deliveries

Local deliveries

Deliveries within 100 miles of Los Angeles, CA are considered Local Deliveries and are available at additional cost. This is a curbside delivery, unloading is the buyer’s responsibility. The receiving party is responsible for moving the load away from the curb. Drivers are not responsible for moving order into driveways or garages. Forklift only provided upon request for an additional fee.

A variety of shipping options are available. If you have any special requirements, please let your sales representative know. It is the customer’s responsibility to coordinate special shipping methods. Failure to do this will void your right to a claim.

It is the sole responsibility of the person that signs for received items to fully inspect and note any and all problems before the delivery person leaves, this includes both the quality and quantity of the client’s order. The person receiving the delivery must inspect, examine, and inventory the shipment immediately upon arrival. Once the delivery document has been signed with no exceptions noted and the driver has left, the order will be considered fully accepted. Afterward, claims will not be processed.

 

National deliveries

All deliveries more than 100 miles away from Los Angeles, CA are considered National Deliveries and are available at additional cost. This is a curbside delivery, and the customer is responsible for unloading shipments by hand. A lift gate service is available for loads under five (5) feet long at an additional cost. It is the receiving party’s responsibility to unload – not the driver.

A variety of shipping options are available. If you have any special requirements, please let your sales representative know. It is the customer’s responsibility to coordinate special shipping methods.

The person receiving the delivery must inspect, examine, and inventory the shipment immediately upon arrival. If any damage is noticed when an order is delivered, it must be made known to the driver and sales representative immediately. Your sales representative will review how to proceed and give you instructions on properly signing the delivery receipt. Failure to do this will void your right to a claim. It is the responsibility of the person that signs for received items to inspect and note any and all problems before the delivery person leaves. Once the delivery document has been signed with no exceptions noted and the driver has left, the order will be considered fully accepted. Afterward, claims will not be processed. Additionally, Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles is not responsible for any damaged, lost, misdelivered, or delayed shipments by the freight forwarder.

If the delivery address is not accessible by the carrier, the customer may incur additional costs for warehousing and further redelivery attempts. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles is not responsible and will not cover the cost of hiring an additional dedicated service to finalize the order delivery. Please check the shipping options with your sales representative for specific delivery options and fees.

Pickups

If you wish to pick up your order directly at the warehouse, pickup times are from 8 am to 5 pm. We are not responsible for extended waiting periods or delays that may be caused by a large number of orders being processed. It is always best to call ahead to see how busy the warehouse is. Orders must be picked up within 14 days.

After the 14-day period, Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles reserves the right to put the inventory back in our warehouse and the buyer will incur a 25% restocking fee.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will receive your order the same day that you have placed it and paid for it. We reserve the right and terms to program your pickup for a future date.

Please be aware that boards can be selected for an additional cost.

 

Timing

Deliveries will usually ship out within 1-5 business days with material that is in stock. Special orders, material not in stock, or material that needs to be modified may take longer to ship out. For materials not in stock that Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles has purchased from a vendor for a client, we reserve up to 60 days for the material to get to the client. If you require products delivered by a certain date, verify product availability with your sales representative at the time of purchase. All listed shipping times are estimates and specific delivery time frames cannot be guaranteed for any order. We will do our best to get you the order as fast as possible. However, we are not responsible for delays in out-of-state and international shipment cases. For materials not in stock that Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles has purchased for a client, if 60 days pass and the client does not receive their order, they will get their money back in full. If the client wants a refund before the 60 days is up, the client will incur a 25% cancellation fee.

Local deliveries will take place between 8 am and 5 pm on the scheduled day. Delays may come up at the different drop points throughout the route. Therefore a smaller time window cannot be provided. The driver will call the recipient within an hour prior to the delivery. National Deliveries will be shipped via standard carrier freight or a dedicated truck. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles will communicate the expected delivery date to the client. However, it is by no means responsible for the accuracy of the delivery times stated by the carrier. A BOL will be provided with the destination terminal phone number where the client can track the shipment and arrange delivery. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles is not responsible for coordinating the shipment’s drop-off according to terms. Please make sure you have made the necessary arrangements for receiving the shipment.

 

Returns/Refunds

No returns are accepted on glue, oils, or any adhesive products. No refunds or returns on special orders (custom millings or special sizing) or open boxes will be accepted. Freight on returns will be at the Client’s expense. Returns or exchanges on hardwoods in-stock must be done within 15 days since the client received the order. For materials not in stock that Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles has purchased for a client, if 60 days pass and the client does not receive their order, they will get their money back in full. If the client wants a refund before the 60 days is up, the client will incur a 25% cancellation fee. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles provides no guarantee, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or quality of the information received from Builders, installers, or their employees or subcontractors. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles will not be liable for any errors or omissions caused as a result of, contained in, or found within the information received from builders, installers, or their employees or subcontractors and does not accept any liability due to any claim, loss, expense, damage or cost, direct or indirect, that may be incurred as a result of any reliance placed upon it.

The builders’ or installers’ responsibility is to check all quantities, quality and/or product suitability for the specific project on terms. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles does not permit returns on inventory products or custom-ordered, custom-milled items. No returns are accepted on leftover materials. Should a return be approved by Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles, it must be done in writing and with the proper paperwork. No merchandise will be accepted after 30 days of invoicing. Should an order be approved for return, the return must reflect the lengths and dimensions of the lumber sold, especially for random length orders. All returns must be fully undamaged and adequately packaged. All items must be inspected before a refund or credit is issued. All returns are subject to a restocking fee of 25%. Refunds and returns will also not be issued if outstanding bills are due to Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles. Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles is not responsible for any shipping and unloading fees incurred to make a return according to terms.

 

Unauthorized Returns

If a return is made without previous authorization by Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles, Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles reserves the right and term to refuse the merchandise, and the client will be held responsible for any shipping, unloading, and storage or disposal fees. Order Cancellation: If a client decides to cancel their order, they will incur a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will depend on how soon after placing the order the cancellation is made and what type of product is ordered.

In-stock merchandise: If a cancellation is made within 72 hours of an in-stock merchandise purchase, the client will get their money back in full. If a cancellation is made for an in-stock merchandise purchase after the 72-hour period, the client will incur a 10% cancellation fee. If a cancellation is made after in-stock merchandise has been delivered and within the 15-day period, including if an order is canceled or refused once it has arrived at the delivery site, the client will have to pay for the shipping costs and a 25% restocking fee. If the 15-day period has passed, the client will not be able to return the merchandise or receive their money back.

 

Out-of-stock merchandise

Out of stock merchandise refers to merchandise that Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles has purchased from another vendor for a client OR inventory that Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles carries but is not currently in stock. If a cancellation is made before out-of-stock merchandise has shipped before 60 days have passed, the client will have to pay a minimum 25% cancellation fee minimum (depending on what the specific vendor charges for cancellation, it might be higher). After the 60 days have passed, if the client has not received their merchandise, the client will receive their money back in full. If the merchandise was delivered and the client returns the merchandise within 24 hours, the client will incur a 25% restocking fee minimum, depending on vendor restocking fee it may be higher. If the merchandise was delivered and the client does not return within 24 hours, the client is not able to return.

Special order: If the client purchases a special order, meaning custom milling or special sizing, they are not able to return at all.

 

Claims and Additional Charges

According to terms, if merchandise arrives at the destination and is damaged, the client must contact Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles immediately. For a damage claim to be made, send photos of damaged products and a copy of the delivery receipt with the damage noted on the receipt via email or mail. We will file a claim with the shipping company if the damage occurred in transit and will make arrangements to fulfill the customer’s order. Claims must be filed within 72 hours of the delivery and through email or regular mail, in addition to having contacted the sales representative via telephone. In addition to the order price, the buyer will pay Brazilian Lumber Los Angeles the amount of tax related to the sale and any freight-related charges.
